Crafting premium motion design with modern 3D touches to complement BitGo's brand refresh and communicate security

BitGo, the world’s leading digital asset custodian, secures over $100 billion in crypto for institutions across 90+ countries. BitGo is known for its unmatched security, regulatory compliance, and broad asset support. It works with some of the biggest names in finance.

The Challenge

The wider crypto industry has faced significant challenges around public trust, with volatility, security breaches, and regulatory uncertainty making it harder for companies to demonstrate stability. For BitGo, this meant that their brand refresh wasn’t just about looking modern and premium. It was about reinforcing their position as a safe, credible, and trusted partner for institutions worldwide.

With a new website on the way, high-profile industry events ahead, and a Times Square billboard slot booked, BitGo needed a motion-led solution that could amplify their updated brand while cultivating that all-important trust. The aim was to create something sophisticated and premium, but still clear and approachable for a B2B audience.

The Solution

We began with a discovery phase to fully understand the refreshed brand and explore where motion could add the most value. Our approach combined the clean, modern foundations from their new identity with elevated 3D touches to bring depth and reassurance.     In both light and dark themes, with embedded brand colours, four cover styles, and 20–30 layout options for consistent, polished presentations.

The BitGo brand launch is a motion-led identity refresh designed by Buff to reinforce the credibility of the world's leading digital asset custodian through premium visual storytelling and technical animation. As a certified B Corp creative studio, Buff utilised a thorough discovery phase to evolve the existing design system for BitGo, which secures over one hundred billion dollars in crypto assets for institutions across ninety countries. The project addressed industry challenges regarding public trust by delivering a flagship brand video alongside a suite of concepted and animated brand illustrations that establish a distinctive visual language. These assets were further supported by a Google Slides master template featuring twenty to thirty layout options to ensure consistent B2B communication. By integrating elevated 3D touches and custom sound design, the studio enhanced perceptions of regulatory compliance and security for high-visibility platforms including a Times Square billboard. This collaborative partnership focused on creating an impactful motion system that remains adaptable for future digital platform requirements while maintaining a sophisticated and approachable aesthetic for global finance audiences.
